How to Inject an Ant Mound With Insecticide
- 1). Inspect your lawn for ant mounds. Look for mounds around gardens, flower beds, concrete or other hard surfaces in your yard.
- 2). Attach an injector rod or spray nozzle to a residual insecticide aerosol can. Scrape the top of the mound off with a shovel to expose the tunnels below.
- 3). Insert the injector rod into the mound and spray until you reach the bottom. You can purchase an injector rod at your local garden supply store.
- 4). Treat every mound in your yard with the insecticide. It may be necessary to repeat treatment for resistant mounds.
- 5). Check your lawn and nearby vegetation often for ant mounds. If you discover any, treat them immediately before it gets out of control.
