Bizarre Anti Aging Ingredients

1
If you take a look around your favorite drugstores cosmetic/beauty section, chances are you won't run into the same old skin care ingredient lists you are used to seeing.
Gone are the days when you can buy a cream with aloe vera or shea butter in the ingredient list and know it will be a 100% effective product.
Sure, those natural ingredients have been in skin care formulas for years, and probably will be around for many more years, but there are new kids on the block in the quest for the best skin treatments, and they are coming from some bizarre areas.
One of the first ingredients that comes to mind is this new ingredient that is in one fo La Prairies products.
It's actually in their anti aging eye cream, and the ingredient is caviar.
Yes, caviar! I'm not sure if it's edible or not, but the fact of the matter is, that this delicacy fish is used for it's antioxidant value.
While this sounds like something I'd like to experience firsthand, the minuscule bottle goes for a price point north of $300.
Yikes! Another ingredient that I have covered in past articles is gold.
Gold is not just a commodity on major trading markets, it's a commodity among skin care product formulators.
Just like caviar, gold is used for it's antioxidant value, and has been the key ingredient in products sold by a company called OroBeauty.
Again, these products come with a higher price point, but they sure do come in immaculate packaging and make for great presentation in any setting.
The last ingredient is the most intriguing to me.
It's called Syn-ake, and this ingredient is actually synthetic snake viper venom derived from temple vipers raised in Brazil and then brought to Switzerland for processing.
This ingredient is actually used in many anti wrinkle formulas today, and has been given an award for it's performance by the Heath Board in Switzerland.
Not only does this ingredient get rave reviews, but it's also been pitted head to head vs.
Argirelene, and it's persevered.
If you think about all the stories you hear of people being paralyzed by venomous snakes, this makes sense.
Paralyzing a wrinkle would be one way to stop the wrinkle from spreading deeper into the skin! In today's anti aging skin care world, there are many answers.
These are just a few of the more quirky ones that are on the market today.
Good luck with whatever ingredient mix you choose to make your skin look better.
