Easy Way to Make Wedding Bows

14

    Make the Bow

    • Cut four 6-yard pieces of tulle. Stack the tulle pieces together so that they are all even with each other. Fold the pieces in half to find the center point of the pieces. At the center point, tie a simple overhand knot. Make a basic loop on each side of the overhand knot using approximately 14 inches of tulle for each loop. Hold one loop in each hand and tie the loops together in a basic knot. Tighten the knot slightly. Adjust the bow you just tied by making each loop smaller or larger so that the loops are the same size. When the loops are the size you want, tighten the knot more. After the knot has been tightened, spread out the tulle in the loops so that the loops are full.

    Evaluate the Bow

    • Look at the tulle streamers that are cascading down from the center knot. Determine if they are the proper length. If the tulle streamers are too long, trim them off to a shorter length.
Look at the loops of the bow. If the loops of the bow are not long enough, use more than 14 inches of tulle to make the original loops. If the bows are not full enough, consider using more than four lengths of tulle to create the bow. Five or six lengths of tulle may be required.

    Embellish the Bow

    • For best results, hide the center knot with embellishments. Hot glue a silk flower to the center knot area. Add another ribbon bow that incorporates the wedding colors to introduce a splash of color to the bows. Another option is to add a spray of baby's breath as a base and then add a few silk flowers over the baby's breath.

    Make Notes and Make More

    • When you have a tulle bow that you are satisfied with and that you want to use, write down any special dimensions or measurements that you used when making the bow so that you will remember what you did to create it. Once you have a bow you are happy with, you will likely be needing to make a large number of them to decorate pews, columns, tables, and doors at the wedding ceremony and reception.
