How to Fix a Stained Pool Liner
- 1). Remove the pool liner from the pool. Refer to your pool owner's manual for how to remove your specific type of pool's liner. Your pool must be drained before you remove the liner.
- 2). Place the pool liner on a flat surface in your yard. Make sure the area is free from rocks, sticks and other items that could damage your liner.
- 3). Rinse the pool liner with a water hose to remove surface dust, dirt and other debris.
- 4). Fill a bucket with 2 parts water and 1 part bleach. Saturate a sponge in the mixture.
- 5). Scrub the pool liner with the sponge, focusing on visible stains. Continue scrubbing until the stains are no longer visible.
- 6). Apply a metal-removal cleaner on rust and copper stains. Allow the cleaner to sit on the metal stains for several seconds. Scrub the stains with a clean sponge until the stains are no longer visible.
- 7). Rinse the pool liner with your water hose. Dry the liners with towels.
