How to Print on the Bottom of a Water Bottle

3

    Stencil/Marker Method

    • 1). Insert a pencil through the top of an egg carton so that the pencil is standing straight. Fit the opening of a water bottle over the pencil. The bottom of the water bottle should be facing up.

    • 2). Scuff the bottom of the plastic bottle with light grade sandpaper. Do not scuff the bottom of a glass water bottle.

    • 3). Tape a stencil to the bottom section of the water bottle where you plan to print. Stencils are available in a variety of designs, including letters.

    • 4). Fill in the stencil cutout with a permanent marker or a glass paint pen. Most permanent markers work on nonporous surfaces. Glass paint pens work on glass. Allow the marker/paint pen to dry. Remove the stencil.

    Rubber Stamping Method

    • 1). Attach a clear, acrylic rubber stamp to a stamping grid or clear block with grid adhesive. The clear, acrylic stamp and clear grid or block allows you to see where you place the stamp on the bottom of the water bottle.

    • 2). Ink the acrylic stamp by pressing a permanent solvent ink pad against the raised letters or images. Cover the raised portion of the stamp completely.

    • 3). Press the stamp against the bottom of the plastic bottle but not too hard. The ink will scatter against the nonporous surface from too much pressure. Rock the stamp from side to side to imprint the design onto the plastic bottle. Remove the stamp; let the ink dry.

    • 4). Clean the stamp quickly with stamp cleaner so that the permanent ink will not stain the acrylic.
