How to Replace an RV Window Seal
- 1). Unscrew the window you are working on from the inside of the RV. Push on the window so there is enough for someone to grab from the outside.
- 2). Remove the window from outside the RV. Grab from the bottom and pull towards you. Place on the ground, in a safe place it will not be broken.
- 3). Scrape off the old sealant completely using a plastic scraper.
- 4). Wash the area where the old sealant was with mild soap and water. Allow the area to air dry.
- 5). Apply the new sealant. Silicone sealant works best because it protects the window from mother nature's potential damage.
- 6). Reinstall the window with caution placing pressure mostly on the center of the window.
- 7). Check to make sure all areas around the window are sealed. Any mishaps could lead to leakage in the future.
- 8). Apply a rubber trim over the sealant for extra protection.
