How to Change a Profile Name
- 1). Access the "Start" menu and click the "Control Panel" link. Choose the "User Accounts" option. In Windows Vista, the link will read "User Accounts and Family Safety."
- 2). Click the "User Accounts" link at the top of the screen. Click the icon at the right side of the window that corresponds to the profile name you want to change.
- 3). Choose the "Change Your Account Name" link underneath the "Make Changes To Your User Account" heading. Click "Continue" if you are using Windows Vista.
- 4). Type the new profile name you want to use in the text box. Click "Change Name" to save the new profile name.
- 1). Open the Start menu and select the "Control Panel" option. Double-click the option labeled "User Accounts."
- 2). Select the "Change an Account" option located underneath the "Pick a Task" heading. Click the name of the profile you want to change.
- 3). Choose the "Change the Name" link. Type your new profile name in the text box and click "Change" to save the change.
