How to Remove Two Sided Textures in Sketchup

1

    Default Color

    • 1). Click the "File" menu, then click the "Open" command.

    • 2). Navigate to and double-click a scene file with at least one polygon whose two sides have a texture. SketchUp will load the file for you to edit the model.

    • 3). Right-click the loaded model and click "Explode" to separate the model into its individual faces.

    • 4). Click the "Camera" menu's "Orbit" command and then drag the mouse in a circular motion around the model's faces. This action lets you inspect the faces to identify those with two sides containing a texture. Stop dragging when you locate such a face.

    • 5). Click the "Windows" menu. Click the "Materials" item to open the "Materials" window.

    • 6). Click the dual-colored square near the top of the window. This selects the default color for painting.

    • 7). Click the side of the face from which you want to remove the texture. SketchUp will display the default color in place of the texture, which means the texture has been removed.

    Texture File Deletion

    • 1). Press "Control" and "O" simultaneously to display the "File Open" dialog box.

    • 2). Navigate to and double-click a scene file with a model containing at least one dual-textured face.

    • 3). Right-click the model and click "Explode" to separate the model into its individual faces.

    • 4). Press "O" to enter the "Orbit" mode and then drag in a circular motion around the model's faces. Release the mouse when you find a face whose two sides have a texture.

    • 5). Click the "Window" menu. Next, click the "Materials" window.

    • 6). Click the button whose face displays an eyedropper. This tool lets you identify the texture in the Materials gallery used to texture the face.

    • 7). Click the eyedropper cursor on the side of the face containing the texture you want to remove. SketchUp will highlight the texture used in the face in the "Materials" gallery.

    • 8). Right-click the highlighted gallery texture and click "Delete." This action will remove the texture on all faces containing this texture, including the one on which you clicked the eyedropper.
