Are you planning a trip to Barbados? You've picked a vacation spot that guarantees lots to do - you'll never be bored. There are endless possibilities when you travel to this wonderful part of the world. Not only will you have an opportunity to experience the Barbadian culture, you'll also get exposure to the West Indian Culture. If you choose to, you'll experience the culture through the active nightlife, theater, and music of Barbados. After you're first visit to Barbados, you'll want to spend all your vacations on this beautiful island.

Participating in the active nightlife is not the only thing to do in Barbados. If you love to play golf, you'll be amazed at the wonderful golf courses in the area, such as the Royal Westmoreland, Sandy Lane and the Barbados Golf and Country Club.

You can also view the national Barbadian sport of cricket. Every year the popular world cricket tournaments are held at the well-known Kingston Oval, where thousands from all over come to watch.

If you're a sun worshiper, this is the place for you. The clear waters and miles of beaches will be calling to you as soon as you land. You'll have many hours to play or just relax in the sun until you are ready for dinner. Then it's time to enjoy a delicious meal from one of the many fabulous restaurants. As for water sports, here are some:

(1) snorkeling among the rocks and reef close to shore, (2) kayaking near the shoreline, (3) water skiing through the calming waters, (4) wind surfing as the wind comes up, (5) sailing in one of the many scenic coves, and (6) boogie boarding for the more adventurous.

If you love to play in the water, you won't have time to partake of all the water sports available in Barbados unless you plan to take an extended holiday.

The best time of the year to visit Barbados is during February to May when the weather is cooler and drier than at any other time of the year. One thing that you will have to remember is that this time is considered tourist time and will be very busy with tourists from all over the world. This also means that the prices of everything will be higher than at any other time of the year.

There are many festivals and events that happen in Barbados at all times. One of the largest festivals is the Crop- Over Festival, which started back in the colonial times of the island during the harvesting of the sugar cane. This festival takes place in July and lasts for several weeks. If you are in Barbados during the month of February you will want to take in the Holetown Festival, which is the celebration of the first English settlers to the colonies in 1627.

Other festivals and events include the Oistins Fish Festival during Easter and the National Independence Festival of Creative Arts that takes place in November.

No matter what time of the year that you visit Barbados you can be assured that there is something that will keep you busy and coming back for more.
