Geek Help -- What is a Cloud Server?

8
What is a cloud server? – A cloud server is a high performance virtual private server – that caters to complex database and hosting needs of large and medium scale clients.

Since its operating through a cloud, it maximizes the processing capabilities of a physical dedicated server. It cuts down the need to install additional computers – which subsequently consumes space among server sites. This gets rid of the unnecessary wirings, bulk physical mega computers, and webs of connectors.

Why Opt for a Cloud Server?

It runs via software and so, all processes are behind the background of the server computer. It's processes are calculated through binary codes – so clients won't have so much problems with technicalities – except if the computer server itself has problems.

Physical space is no longer a matter – since all of the data and file storage are on a cloud. Users and host providers can branch up to unlimited networks – depending on the capacity of the computer server.

It's makes data recoverable in case it's accidentally deleted or infested by viruses. Plus, its encoded in the highest data encryption so hackers – will have a tough time accessing such system.

Where's my data Stored and Where?

A virtual machine is created through XML, BIN, VSV, VHD, and AVHD files.  To explain further:
  • .XML files.

- These make up the virtual machine configuration details
  • BIN files

                - This contains the memory of the virtual machine
  • .VSV files

- File that contains the saved state of devices associated with the virtual machine
  • .VHD files

- The virtual hard disk for the virtual machine
  • .AVHD files

- These are the differencing disk for virtual machine snapshots

How Does a Virtual Machine Function?

A virtual machine often called as a virtual hard disk replicates an existing hard drive and includes the structure elements as well as the existing data. There are two types of virtual machines, the fixed virtual machine, and the expanding virtual machine. A fixed virtual machine will automatically replicate the size of the hard disk while an expanding machine – will allocate space if necessary.

Overall, It's good to know such technology. We can now keep one computer at a time with lots of virtual servers for different files and clients. Businesspersons and ordinary people will now have the easiness of copying, accessing, and storing files via cloud server. Few of these virtual servers are available on the internet, free to use, and accessible anywhere.

Now that we know what is a cloud server, it's time to take advantage of its usefulness to make our life easier. Although these virtual servers perform greatly on our local hard drives, installing too much cloud servers can damage the system. It's wise to check the capabilities of your computer before installing a cloud server. This way, we can save expense from equipment repair or worst for new equipment, maximize the capability of existing equipment, and create unlimited network of possibilities. We hope this article helped you to know what is a cloud server.
