University Math Scholarships
- Prospective Secondary Teacher Course Work Scholarships are administered by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. As of 2011, each year a $10,000 scholarship is awarded to a student who has already completed one year of university study. Applicants are required to demonstrate academic excellence and must plan to work as a certified teacher at the secondary school level post graduation.
Membership in the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics is necessary to qualify for the scholarship. The first $5,000 is awarded to scholarship recipients while they are in their third year of school. The remaining $5,000 is awarded during the student's fourth year of school. The scholarship covers tuition, books and lab fees. - The Robert Noyce Scholarship is awarded to students majoring in math, technology, science or engineering. The $10,000 scholarship is awarded once a year for two years as of 2011. After they graduate, award recipients must teach math at the elementary and secondary school levels.

Math majors can use the scholarships to pay for tuition, fees and books at public and private universities. - High school students who plan to major in math at a public or private university in the United States after they graduate from high school are eligible to receive a Siemens Math, Science and Technology Scholarship. Scholarships range from $10,000 to $100,000 as of 2011.
Scholarships awarded to math education majors through the Siemens Foundation are available to high school students in grades 9 through 12 who plan to attend a private or public college or university in the United States.
A math, technology or science project that includes an introduction, research method, illustrations, findings, interpretation of results and a conclusion must accompany scholarship applications. - Students who have a record of academic excellence and who demonstrate a financial need are eligible to receive a National Science Foundation Computer Science, Engineering and Mathematics Scholarship. Each year approximately 90 students receive the scholarships that cover four years of tuition at a public or private university. Students can also use the scholarship to cover the costs of their books and lab fees. Math majors are allowed to pursue an undergraduate or graduate degree. Maximum amount of the four-year scholarship is $100,000 as of 2011.
