The port on the second monitor and an open port on the computer will need to match in order to successfully connect the second monitor. For example, if the monitor has a VGA port, the case will also need to have an open VGA port.

    • 3). Click on the desktop start menu. You should be looking at your first monitor.

    • 4). Select the "Control Panel," and choose "Appearance and Themes."

    • 5). Select "Display."

    • 6). Select "Identify" to display two large number icons, 1 and 2, that represents each monitor.

    • 7). Click "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor option." Click "Apply" and "OK."
