- Bus service in Thailand is reliable. Buses leave Krabi for Bangkok hourly. By air, you arrive at the Phuket airport. Taxi service to Krabi runs about 2000 baht, or $60 U.S., as of July 2009. Ferries serve the islands. There is no train.
- Krabi is a melting pot of cultures. Overall, Thailand is Buddhist, but in Krabi you also see Muslims and the Chao Lay, the Sea Gypsies. Traditional Thai tolerance accepts and welcomes diversity.
