How to Change Your Texas Voting Mailing Address
- 1). Get a copy of the Request for Voter Registration Application from your County Tax Assessor-Collector Office, the Texas Secretary of State office or the library in your city or town.
- 2). Fill out the application. The information that you need to include on your Texas voter registration form is as follows: your name, social security number, date of birth and the address you gave on your application. You must be at least 17 years and 10 months of age to be allowed to register.
- 3). Send the application in to your county's tax office, which also acts as the County Voter Registration office.
- 4). Collect the confirmation that you receive back in the mail from the tax office. Bring this as proof that you are able to vote to the election polls when you decide to vote.
- 5). Notify your county's tax office of any changes in your status. If you move in the same county, you must let the office know. If you move from one Texas county to another, you need to register to vote in the new county. If your name changes due to marriage or divorce, you are required to notify the office of these changes.
