Eco Friendly
My friends and I have many things in common.
We love ice skating, dancing, and of course shopping.
Not every girl in the world likes to ice skate but I have not met one girl yet who doesn't like shopping.
We love to get together after class and go downtown to check out what's the next hottest thing in fashion.
Shopping as a hobby as it is for me and my friends could get very expensive and some of the time if you could believe it I'm actually not in the mood of maxing out my credit cards lol.
So we just hop on the bus, go downtown and window shop.
Its very fun and we really enjoy ourselves.
I love to look at the sexy clothing on the mannequins in the display windows.
I never thought that there was anything wrong with doing that.
Looking at a mannequin in a window is harmless.
But one day I realized.
Mannequins are made of plastic and if there is one thing that I really care about it is the environment.
It really got me thinking about how many mannequins there are and how by me looking at them and eventually going into the stores that use them I am indirectly supporting the manufacture of plastic and everyone knows that that is not a good thing at all.
Anyhow, I went home after realizing this and was very bothered.
I could not enjoy my dinner and had to call a friend.
I did and it did not help.
They all told me that it was not such a big deal and that I was overreacting.
Which could have been true but I still did not feel any better.
Finally my boyfriend came home.
He asked me what was the matter and I told him about how mannequin production is not good for the environment and I feel bad knowing how much I enjoy window shopping.
He smiled and did not tell me anything bad about how I was overreacting.
He simply told me to pull up a chair and sit with him by the computer.
I did and waited.
Finally he got to a web page of some sort that spoke all about mannequins and he pointed to a line that said that the plastic display mannequins are recyclable and eco friendly.
I was so happy! Now can go back to my favorite hobby without feeling bad and its all thanks to my boyfriend who knew what to tell me and how.
And as for my friends they have a lot to learn from my boyfriend about how to deal with me lol.
