Agents in Clinical Trials

There are numerous agents that are currently in clinical trials for the treatment of NASH and NASH-related fibrosis. Table 4 provides a partial list of agents that are currently in clinical trials. The reversal of NASH and improvement in NASH fibrosis is a major unmet need in the field and is an area of intense research. Further research is ongoing for the development of novel biomarkers of disease activity and prognosis, and novel targets for therapy for both improvement in NASH and NASH-related fibrosis.
