Why Your Thyroid Is Vital In Losing Weight Permanently

1
Unfortunately most people who have weight problems do not fully understand the effects their Thyroid has on their weight.
Your metabolism is controlled by your Thyroid and when it has problems, you may find your weight suffers because of it.
Most diets available tell you to cut down on calories, when in truth having a healthy thyroid can actually control your weight faster, and if you are trying to lose weight, a healthy thyroid will help you to shed those unwanted pounds much quicker.
If you know someone who loses weight very fast, it is more than likely they suffer from something called hyperthyroidism.
This actually is an overactive thyroid and causes your metabolism to increase rapidly, therefore weight loss is rapid also.
The down side to this is, that it is unhealthy and can cause many problems.
If you're having trouble keeping your weight and find you seem to lose weight too fast, it is advised you contact your doctor and get medical help as it could be a thyroid problem.
Tiredness and bulging eyes are a sign of this.
Hyperthyroidism can of course have the opposite effect.
It could slow down your metabolism and lead to an increase of weight.
If you know people who try desperately to lose weight and always have problems in doing so, it could be that they are suffering from hyperthyroidism.
Again, your doctor can do some tests and tell you if this is a problem.
When trying to lose weight, most people look at cutting down on calories, and the danger here is they cut down too much and thyroid problems can begin due to a lack of calories.
We have been led to believe that cutting calories will help us to lose weight, which can be good advice, but many diets do not point out the importance of calorie intake needed to help your body function correctly.
Calories help your metabolism to function healthily and reducing your calorie intake too much will actually have the opposite effect.
In other words, you may find yourself gaining weight instead of losing it! Alongside that, you will feel drowsy, weak and tired most of the time.
Slowing down your metabolism will add another factor into the equation.
If you suddenly decide to eat a large meal with tons of calories, you will find your weight rises sharply and much more than it would do if your calorie intake was balanced.
Losing weight and staying healthy is not that hard if you understand how your body works and what your body needs in order to function correctly.
The best way is to reduce your calorie intake without it slowing down your metabolism.
Only then will you begin to see real results that last permanently.
Having a balanced diet is vital if you really want to lose weight.
It will speed up your metabolism and give you more energy.
Having more energy means you will be able to burn excess fat without having to work out at the fitness center each day.
You can easily calculate how many calories a day your body needs and knowing this will help you to establish a balanced diet.
Simply take your weight in Kilograms and multiply it by 30.
USA people should divide their weight in pounds by 2.
2 to get their weight in Kilograms.
So, if your weight in Kilograms is say, 65kg, then all you do is times that number by 30 to get your daily intake of calories needed to maintain your weight.
In other words, 1950 calories a day would be needed.
It is widely accepted by many top dietitians, that men need a minimum of 1500 calories a day and women around 1200 a day.
This figure should ensure you suffer no medical problems.
Remember, not enough calories can be worse than too many.
Eating five small meals a day, each consisting of 300 calories will help you to lose weight or maintain your weight.
Make your meals balanced by having 40% protein, 25% fat and around 35% carbohydrates for best results.
If you are not sure what that means, it may be best to contact a nutritionist to help.
