You Don"t Have to Grow Old Before Your Time
OPCs and anti-aging.
Whether you know it or not, your body is constantly being attacked by very harmful substances know as free radicals.
You can not see them, smell them or touch them, but they are always there.
They are trying to destroy your body proteins and cell membranes.
In this article I will explain what free radicals are and what you can do about them.
Now OPCs (Oligomeric Proanthcyanidins) are among today's most potent and promising free radical fighters.
We will refer to them OPC from here on.
What are they you ask? They are actually a family of antioxidants-found in grape seeds, red wine, and the bark of French maritime pine trees - they are more powerful than vitamins C and E, long the gold-standard antioxidants.
They are dangerous, and scientists believe that continuous exposure to them is the major cause of aging and of many degenerative diseases.
Antioxidants are involved in reducing the risk of more than sixty diseases.
Oops, I forgot to tell you what free radicals actually are; think of free radicals as biological terrorists.
Quite simply, they can be bad for your health.
In chemistry, atoms that are found grouped together are called a "radical".
This group or radicals generally stays together during a chemical reactions, and can be transferred from molecule to molecule (have I lost you yet?).
Sometime during a high energy chemical reaction, radicals can have an electron pulled away, causing the group to temporarily break free from the molecule.
When this happens, it called a 'free radical".
While this unstable high energy fragment is free, it can steal an electron from other molecules, causing that molecule to become a free radical (almost done with the explanation.
) Free radicals can damage the body's proteins and cell membranes, weaken the cell's natural defenses, disrupt cell's DNA, and other body functions, that can leave the body susceptible to many diseases.
I could go on and on but let's agree an abundance of free radicals can harm us.
Look at this; oBlood cell disorders, including lupus and sickle-cell anemia.
oBrain disorders, including neurotoxicity, senile dementia, Parkinsons's disease, and stroke oGum disease, including periodontitis oEye disorders, including cataract, macular degeneration, degenerative retinal damage oGastrointestal tract and liver disorders, including hepatitis and liver injury.
oHeart and cardiovascular system disorders oJoint problems oLung disorders oSkin disorders oAging including disorders of premature aging oCancer oImmune deficiencies oReproductive disorders, ineffective sperm and ED Just to name a few-as we move on with future articles all of these will be discussed in terms of 'anti-aging.
Our best defense against the above diseases and more is antioxidants.
In the next article I will focus on how these antioxidants work.
To my dedicated followers OPC saved my life - no more arthritic pain, no more sinus head aches- few allergies - I thank the Lord every day for bringing that product to me.
More on OPCs in my next article.
