November, 2014, Michigan. My best friend and I were into trapping mice around her property. We would set and check snap traps in the attic, barn, and basement. One day we went to check the traps in the basement. Her house is an old, old farmhouse. My friend's brother's friends great-grandpa used to live there... and died there.

There is one old, creepy-looking side and a new side they built. We set the traps in the creepy side.


My friend and I were checking traps in the creepy side. We started joking around how scary the basement was and looked like it could be in the movie, The Conjuring.

I clapped my hands twice (like when the characters in the movie play hide and clap) and then we started cracking up. About four seconds later I clapped and the lights flickered on and off twice. The same speed I clapped.

My friend and I exchanged looks of horror. We ran back upstairs screaming at the top of our lungs. We told her mom about it, and she passed it off as us imagining it.

The next time I came over, we had a huge sleep over. My brother, her brother, and her brother's friend came. We stayed up late, talking. Then we all felt a chill. It was all dark in the room. Then her brother's friend pointed out a tall white figure. We all froze. Then it disappeared. We had a hard time falling asleep that night.
