How to Make a Giant Breed Dog Door
- 1). Measure your dog's height (from the top of his shoulder blades to the floor) and width to determine the appropriate size for your dog door.
- 2). Remove the door you plan to install the dog door in. Trace the outline of the opening, and cut out the opening for the dog door using a jigsaw.
- 3). Spread exterior caulk on the dog door opening's edges, on both the inside and outside. Press the exterior frame of the dog door into the caulk, making sure the dog door's hinge is at the top. Turn the door over, and press the dog door's interior frame into the caulk. Finally, screw the dog door in using its pre-drilled holes.
