11
There is an upcoming original Young Adult novel called, "Knight Eagle: A New Breed of Superhero that Fights Terrorism" from a fist-time author, Robert Marshall Boyer. You may be thinking why would we need a new Superhero among all of the comic book superheroes, like Marvel Comics and DC Comics. One reason that stands out, we need a new superhero that is a modern-day, patriotic, super hero in every way.

We need a superhero that has human qualities even though he has supernatural, Bald Eagle traits, that defines the American Spirit and Soul. In addition, Knight Eagle represents, and symbolizes a character of any ordinary hero with life struggles. Even though he has supernatural traits, everyone on Earth can have the desire and spirit to be an ordinary hero for others in their everyday lives. People can show it by action, kindness, strength, and the courage that they possess within themselves.

In today's world, there are terrorist acts in many forms and volume. The novel was inspired, and loosely based on two events in the United States of America. The first event, which was the Oklahoma City Bombing that took place on April 19, 1995 that was an attack by a homegrown terrorist named Timothy McVeigh. The second event, the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in New York City, Washington, D.C., and in Pennsylvania, that Osama Bin Laden planned. With a superhero element, Knight Eagle is still a human with weaknesses, strong raw feelings.

The main character, Brandon Newman, age 15, is an ordinary southern boy from Charlotte, North Carolina, which is located in the southeast United States of American. Brandon is affected by a 2006 terrorist attack in his hometown of Charlotte, which is also known as the "Queen City". During the aftermath of the attack, Brandon comes across a Bald Eagle that has a godly special eagle feather emblem, which is a necklace. This emblem is part of the transformation into Knight Eagle. The other part of the transformation, is the clawing of the Bald Eagle, which the eagle transplants its DNA, and traits, into Brandon Newman.

When Brandon Newman becomes Knight Eagle, he struggles with the effects of terrorism. He also fights for a great cause when joining the United States Army as a Green Beret. Prior to joining the military, Brandon figures out who he is as a normal teenager and a new superhero. He searches for the terrorist, Mr. Kinston and Mark Hex, which were involved with the act of terror in Charlotte. During Brandon's life struggle, as a high school teenager, he finds romantic love with Rebecca Ray. His relationship with his family grows stronger. He has a deeper understanding what soldiers go through in the form of sacrifice. When Brandon understands what a soldier does for his nation, it plays a role as he becomes Knight Eagle. Brandon desires grows stronger, and he wants to be an asset to the military. However, he struggles with his abilities that he inherited from the Bald Eagle at age 15. He has highs and lows as he becomes a new breed of superhero that fights terrorism such as the emotional effects of seeing death, seeing pain, and all the raw emotions of a terrorist attack in his hometown.

Back to the question, why do we need a new patriotic Superhero called Knight Eagle among the comic book superheroes? Why do we need a novel about him for the public to read? He is patriotic in spirit, action, kindness, strength, and the courage that possesses in as he struggles in his daily life. Everyone can relate to Brandon Newman as he grows and changes and struggles as he becomes, Knight Eagle.
