Flowers are essential parts of any wedding event.
The beautiful blooms make the occasion greatly pleasing to the eyes and their sweet scents make the ambiance very inviting.
Flowers alone are already beautiful but the key for a stunning wedding is the proper arrangement of these blossoms.

They are well acquainted with the different techniques in flower arrangements and use these techniques to create striking and fresh looking floral assemblies.
Brides who want to save money by arranging their own floral compositions should learn these techniques too.
The first method which is very useful in arranging wedding flowers is piercing.
As the name of the technique implies, piercing involves pricking a piece of floral wire directly through the stem or the flower.
When the wire is already half way inserted, it is then bent on both sides along the flower stem.
Hooking is another technique that florists find useful.
The end of a floral wire is made into a hook.
The wire is then inserted into the flower staring from the top towards the stem where it will be completely hidden in the bloom and away from view.
Still using a piece of floral wire, the twisting technique is done by making a single loop around the bloom.
Repeat this process a several times then the wire should be twisted around the flower stem towards the bottom.
Similar to the twisting technique is the U-twisting.
In this method, a U-shaped component must be made at the middle part of the wire.
This U-shaped component will then be placed at an area on the stem of the flower.
At this point, the wire must then be twisted all around the stem towards the bottom.
The next method, the hairpin technique is applied on leaves or blooms which are too delicate.
Again, a piece of floral wire is used.
From the back of the leaf or flower the wire should be inserted.
Once the wire is already inserted, it is then bent at both sides so that a stem may be created.
After sometime, cut flowers will become dry and wither away but a skillful florist will know of many ways by which flowers will retain their freshness.
It is important that flowers are arranged quickly to maximize their sparkle and beauty.
If flowers are to be freshly cut from a garden, the blossoms must be carried heads down so that flowers whose heads are heavy will not possibly snap.
The flowers should then be laid flat on a newspaper sheet then wrapped in bunch.
This wrapped bunch must then be soaked overnight in lukewarm water for conditioning.
To lessen the decay of the parts soaked in water, all foliage parts on the stem that will be underwater must be stripped.
Spray the flowers with tepid water both at night and in the morning to prolong their freshness.
If the flower has woody stems, the bottom part of the stem must be pounded about 2 inches from the stem before placing the flowers in the water.
The stem should also be cross cut and be pared off to make sure that the flower absorbs sufficient water.
