How to Export Rhino 3D to Maya
- 1). Open the object you want to export into Rhino 3D. Select "Save as" and in the dialogue box that appears, choose to save as an IGES (.igs) file type.
- 2). Close Rhino 3D and open up Maya. Create a new project. Activate the IGES plug-in by going to Menu > Window > Settings/Preferences > Plug-in Manager and enabling the two "Iges.mll" check boxes.
- 3). Select Menu > File > Open and select the IGES file you saved from Rhino. If the imported object looks to be a bit of a mess, open the Outliner and select and delete the different geometry nodes, except for groups.
