• From barbecue dishes to spicy Cajun food, Gumbo Daddy's Café offers selections to satisfy many palates. The restaurant offers gumbo in different varieties, like chicken and sausage or seafood, and diners may choose from 15 platters, including Po' boy and Swamp Salad. Barbecued meats include chicken, brisket, ribs and sausage. • This restaurant boasts of having been the first Cajun restaurant in Shreveport. The full menu ranges from appetizers through desserts and includes traditional Cajun favorites like crawfish, gumbo, etouffee, po' boys and seafood platters. For those who enjoy seafood, fish and shellfish are available throughout the menu and surf and turf selections are available for dinner. Southern Louisiana specials include courtboullion, a dish of shrimp, crab meat and fish over rice. A crawfish feast features etouffee, jamabalaya, tails and crawfish pie. A side dish of red beans and rice may become a meal with the addition of shrimp, fish or oysters.
