How to Monitor the Web With Linux
- 1). Open a command shell and type "apt-get install specto" and press "Enter." Every Linux distribution in different, but a command shell is usually found under "Applications" and "Accessories." This installs Specto, a free Web content monitoring service application.
- 2). Type "specto" into the command shell to launch the application. Click the "Add" button at the top-right and select the type of service you want to monitor. You can choose Email, Internet, System or Social Networks.
- 3). Add the website you want to monitor, along with user information if applicable. Click "Add" to finish. You will receive updates on the sites you added via pop-up message on your screen.
