Three Types of Blog Posts That Increase Participation on Your Blog

7
One of the worst situations to be in as an online blogger is to have a really excellent blog, but which gets little participation.
That is, you may know that people read your blog.
You may even know that those people reading it enjoy your posts.
But, they simply don't want to comment as often as you would like.
This type of situation is solvable and a good way to do it is to vary the type of posts you make on your blog.
Some post types are much more useful for encouraging participation.
And this is much easier than you might think.
In this article I'm going to introduce you to or remind you of three types of blog posts that you should definitely have in your repertoire.
First of all, and the simplest, is the question post.
This is exactly what it sounds like.
You simply write a short post asking a questions where people can add their thoughts underneath the post.
The best type of question posts are the ones that can be answered in multiple different ways as this will allow people to contribute even if they feel that someone else has already given much the same answer as they would have done.
So, you need to use question posts on your blog.
The second type of post to use on your blog is the rant post.
This is where you rant and rave about something that has happened that you are not happy about.
The reason this works is that you are introducing controversy to your blog.
When people read this, they will either agree with you immediately, or they will disagree with you.
Either way, both of these responses will often lead to comments, which is what you are looking for.
The third type of post you need to use is the guest post.
This is where someone other than you writes the post.
The reason for this one is that you are bringing the third party onto your blog and they therefore have a vested interest to see that this succeeds.
You can immediately comment on the post in a way which will lead to a series of comments, some of which will be from your guest poster.
You'll also find that these people will often promote your post themselves, which is an immediate extra traffic source.
By following these tactics, you can increase the level of communication on your blog.
This benefits you with fresh content which you didn't have to write yourself.
Use question posts, rant posts and guest posts to increase participation and make your blog the envy of your social circle today.
