Christmas Tissue Paper Crafts For Kids

6
Tissue paper Christmas crafts are simple and easy for children to make.
These include the ever popular Christmas tree ornaments and wreaths.
Over half of the children crafts that teach tissue crafting to children call for "bits and pieces" of tissue.
As colorful and easy to glue, cut and handle as tissue paper is, small artists will shortly learn to ask for a package for their next and upcoming art project.
A Christmas wreath made out of tissue is simple to make and requires a short material list.
This list includes a standard size paper of white construction paper, different colored tissue and dark green tissue, white craft glue, scissors and a pencil.
The pencil is used to trace a circle on the white construction paper and help scrunch the squares of tissue into little open spheres.
If needed, the opening of a large container like a coffee can should help trace out a perfect circle, use a smaller can to trace the inner circle of the wreath.
The wreath can be cut out of the construction paper.
The tissue should be cut into two inch squares.
The dark green tissue squares are for the outer and inner regions of the wreath, whereas the colored squares of tissue paper can be applied to fill the wreath in with colorful patterns which will resemble ornaments, bows and candy canes.
The edge of the wreath should be beaded with a thing line of glue.
A good rule of thumb is to only apply three of four inches of glue at a time, as to not dry out the glue lines.
Starting with the green squares of tissue paper, place the tip of the pencil eraser into the center of the tissue paper and twist it around the pencil.
Gently attach it to the line of glue on the edge of the wreath.
Untwist the pencil and leave the tissue paper attached to the wreath.
Continue until all the squares are used.
This makes a beautiful wall or door wreath.
Stain glass-like ornaments can also be created using squares of tissue.
Materials for this project include a roll of plastic wrap, scissors, tissue paper, a glue stick and some crafting felt.
The outline shapes of Christmas tress, stars, bells and angels can be cut from two sheets of black felt which are stacked together.
The result is a matching duplicate outline of a tree, star, bell or angel.
A square of plastic wrap is laid between the two pieces of the Christmas pattern outline and the two outlines are then glued together with the sheer of plastic between them.
Trim off any excess plastic from around the felt edges with a pair of scissors.
Tissue paper squares can be glued onto the plastic wrap.
The ornament can be hung by gold or silver hooks and capture the lights of the Christmas tree when dangling on its branches.
These ornaments look resemble real stain glass ornaments.
