Olson and Boise at The New York Times
New York Times Supreme Court reporter Adam Liptak opened a special moderated panel discussion featuring attorneys Theodore Olson and David Boies with a brief history of California's prop 8. Olson and Boies are co-lead counsel for the plaintiffs in Perry v. Schwarzenengger, the current legal challenge to California's ban on same-sex marriage.
"Discrimination on the basis of sexuality is wrong and inconsistent with our concept of equality," Olson told an audience of over 100 LGBT organization leaders, activists, reporters and guests.
"The Supreme Court has said many times that the right to marry is a fundamental right."
