Performance

• An inline dual overhead cam (DOHC) four-cylinder engine powered the Swift, generating 100 horsepower at 6,500 rpm, and 83.2 foot-pounds (ft-lbs) of torque at 5,000 rpm. It had a multi-point electronic fuel injection system, a 1,298 cc displacement and a compression ratio of 10:1. It had a fuel economy of 29 mpg in urban driving conditions and 36 mpg on the highway.
