How to Enjoy Christmas at Longwood Gardens
- 1). Stroll through the outdoor gardens after dark to enjoy the outdoor festival of lights with a half-million lights adorning the trees. Strings of lights are wrapped around the trunks and branches and different light-up ornaments in all colors hang from the trees.
- 2). Enjoy the dancing holiday fountain show. Held in the Open Air Theatre, colorful lights, sparkling snowflakes and holiday music make this a jaw dropping experience. Shows run daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and continuously from 5:00 p.m. to closing, weather permitting.
- 3). Meander through the indoor Conservatory to witness a spectacular display of Christmas trees, decorations and poinsettias. Elaborate, vibrant red poinsettias not only adorn every corner of the Conservatory, but they are formed to make grand Christmas trees. Strolling carolers singing festive Christmas carols add to the ambiance.
- 4). Enjoy outdoor ice skating performances with national, world and olympic skaters, Tiffany Scott and Philip Dulebohn, along with Olympic ice dancer Alexey Beletsky for a twenty minute performance. Skater meet and greets take place after the performance. The show is an additional fee of $5. Performance times vary throughout the holiday season. Check the Longwood Gardens website for details.
- 5). Have the Yuletide Buffet at the Terrace Restaurant located on the grounds of Longwood Gardens. Meats, vegetables, soups, rolls served in terra cotta pots, desserts and beverages are to be enjoyed by all. Times vary throughout the holiday.
