How to Close a Duvet Cover
Things You'll Need
Instructions
1Lay your duvet cover inside-out on your bed, with the opening at the foot of the bed.
2
Lay your down comforter on top of the duvet cover.
3
Use duvet clips to secure the comforter to the duvet cover at all four corners. Some duvet covers have cloth ties at each corner. You may use these to tie the corners of the comforter to the cover, if you prefer this method to using the clips.
4
Reach through the duvet cover opening at the foot of the bed, and grab the upper left corner of the duvet cover. Pull this corner through the duvet cover opening at the foot of the bed. Repeat this with the upper right corner of the duvet cover.
5
Holding a corner in each hand, lift up the duvet cover and snap it into place, using the same action as you would use to straighten out a sheet or cover a table with a cloth.
6
Turn the duvet cover so the buttons are at the foot of the bed. This is generally preferred to having buttons bump into your face as you are sleeping.
7
Button the duvet cover closed. For a clean, seamless look, secure the buttons so they disappear into the fabric. Do this by pulling the button through the buttonhole toward the interior of the comforter cover. While many duvet covers use buttons as closures, others use zippers, snaps, hook-n-loop strips and simple ties.
