Headache Cures
All of us at one stage or another has had a headache.
From just a mild throbbing or pain in the forehead to a full on migraine that brings you to tears, headaches are no fun whatsoever and can be incredibly crippling.
There are almost as many headache cures around as there are headaches but which one is right for you? As stated above, a headache can be a slightly painful annoyance or can be a chronic pain migraine.
Any headache is uncomfortable and can be brought on by a number of reasons.
Stress is by far the most common reason for a headache.
It can be under times of incredible mental stress and anguish either at work or at home such as the kids going crazy, yelling and screaming or can be a lack of water, outside environments, tiredness or even some scents, allergens or materials.
Spare a thought for the migraine sufferer too.
I have been lucky enough to only have experienced this a couple of times in my own life thus far and I must tell you, it is a pain like I have never quite experienced or hope to again! The pain and throbbing (or should I say pounding) just doesn't stop, any sort of light cripples you, you can't talk and all you want to do is crawl away and die! Slightly dramatic I know but at the time you really do think that way! Headache and especially migraine sufferers often do not get the sympathy they deserve simply because it is not visual and very hard to gauge the level of pain the person is suffering.
The person "off sick" from work with a migraine is normally laughed at as either weak or "taking a sick day.
" Even a small headache is enough to stop us doing what we set out to do.
If you are sitting still and relaxed, a mild headache won't trouble you too much but the moment you try and do something especially if it involves head movement, and the pain intensifies.
I myself, love working out at the gym but if you have ever tried to workout or exercise with a headache - think again! With a variety of symptoms and such a common condition, there are a million and one headache cures out there! Here are just a few...
The traditional old "take 2 aspirin (or Tylenol, Panadol, Neurofen etc) and call me in the morning!" Unless you have a doozy of a headache or a migraine, this will normally do the trick! A great old wives remedy is to inhale peppermint oil for a headache.
Not just a blend too by the way but the real quality essential oils.
At any rate, if the headache remains, you can still enjoy the awesomely refreshing peppermint smell! Drink more water.
Dehydration is often said to cause headaches and this makes perfect sense.
Therefore, drink a heap of water to keep headaches away and increase your H2O intake if you actually get a headache.
Get some fresh air and sunshine.
Sometimes a mild to mid headache can actually be cured by getting out into a comfortable and relaxing environment.
The fresh air and outside clears your mind and relaxes the body and spirit.
The beach is also great for this! Reflexology and pressure points.
There is a pressure point in your hand between the thumb and forefinger that if pressed just right and for just the right amount of time, your headache will be gone instantly! Many people also swear by acupuncture.
For chronic sufferers of headache and migraines there is also regular maintenance pills as well as injections for severe and chronic pain.
These normally work but are an extreme option because of the side-effects they often cause.
But what about other headache cures that don't involve taking any drugs? There is an amazing way that you can use your brain to relieve headache pain and it is called brain entrainment.
This technology uses powerful isochronic tones and binaural beats to put your brain into a delta state where relaxation is increased and tension, anguish and stress is dramatically reduced.
Whether you may be in the middle of a head smashing migraine or just starting to get the feeling of a headache coming on, simply pop on your headphones and let these special Delta frequencies calm and sooth every nerve in your head.
These recordings are best used just as a headache is approaching, but can also be of major benefit for those day long brain pounding aches brought on by stress.
