Paintball in the Mountains

26
Paintball can be played in most environments, ranging from woods to flat fields. A very popular way to play paintball is to head to the mountains.

There are three things to keep in mind when you head to the mountains to play paintball. The first is whether you have permission to play. Some mountainous property is privately owned and other land is publicly owned. If you play on private property, ask for permission before you enter the land.

If it is publicly owned, check the rules for that land: some public land allows paintball and other public land prohibits it.

The next thing to keep in mind is that you need a location that is accessible. Great fields that require a mile hike may not work out as players do not enjoy hauling their gear long distances.

Finally, make sure that the field does have some level ground. Paintball is lots of fun, but when you play on a sloped field the entire day, people tend to get tired and grumpy. An ideal location is either a somewhat flat area with trees and a clearing or a small valley where there are slopes for bases and a flat bottom to play on.
