How to Make Brunette Hair Blonde at Home
- 1). Mix up the contents of the bleaching kit purchased from any retail chain store. Empty the color bottle into the plastic applicator bottle; the developer is already inside. Shake the bottle well and add in the lightening powder. Shake again with gloved hands.
- 2). Wrap an old towel around your shoulders to prevent staining or dripping from the dye. Separate your hair into four equal sections and clip each section off with a butterfly clip.
- 3). Apply the bleaching by squeezing on to the first section of hair and working it in with your fingers. Start at the darkest part of the hair first -- this is usually at the roots. Cover each section completely with the bleach and pile on top of your head. Place a plastic cap on to prevent the bleach from drying out.
- 4). Check the color progress after 20 minutes. If your hair is not the desired paleness, leave it on longer. Check progress again after each additional 10 minutes. Leave on for up to one hour.
- 5). Rinse the bleach out with warm water and then shampoo the hair. Rinse thoroughly and apply a conditioner. Leave the conditioner on for five minutes and then rinse it out. Towel-dry the hair.
