How to Put in Multi-Focal Contacts
- 1). Wash your hands thoroughly with an antibacterial or disinfecting hand soap prior to putting in the multi-focal contacts. Rinse your hands with clean water and dry them on a clean hand towel. If possible, use a lint-free towel so that fiber particles do not stick to your fingers.
- 2). Open the contact lens case by unscrewing the top. Open only one side at a time and always start with the same side, either left or right. This is important for people who have different contact lens prescriptions for each eye, so that the lenses do not get mixed up.
- 3). Insert your finger into the contact lens case and gently remove the contact. Place it into the palm of one hand and rinse it thoroughly with the contact solution. Do not touch the tip of the contact solution bottle to the contact or to your hand.
- 4). Place the contact on the index finger of your dominant hand. Hold open the top and bottom areas of the eye with the middle fingers of the same hand and your other hand.
- 5). Move your index finger slowly toward your eye until the contact lens sticks to it. Move your finger away from your eye and release your upper and lower eye area.
- 6). Repeat the process to place the other multi-focal contact lens into the other eye.
