Come what may the reason for the computer freeze it needs to be addressed immediately in order to save the pc from further damage. When a laptop or computer freeze happens it's usually due to one of the good reasons over or a mixture of them.

Some of the most important reasons that can cause the freezing issue in your computer are follows.

Computer Virus

I have personally seen where nothing could be done to fix the virus and we had left only option to reinstall the Windows. A virus can create a slow computer, freezing, BSOD and many more computer related issues in your computer.

Removing the infected virus is the only solution ASAP with an effective and up to date antivirus program.

Computer overheat issue

If your computer is overheated it can cause the freezing issue for sure. A computer can be overheated due to many reasons such as if CPU or power supply unit fans are not working. Check your CPU and PSU fans and make sure the computer is not getting heated all the time. An overheat issue can also create a slow computer problem.

Hardware fault

If there is any faulty or incompatible hardware component is installed in your computer, it can cause the freezing issue. An incompatible or broken piece of hardware can slows down the entire system's performance and can bring a blue screen as well. Replacement of any such equipment is the only solution to fix this issue. No other computer fix or PC repair solution will work for this issue.

Operating system problem

Corrupt operating system files are also responsible for freezing of a computer. Since an operating system is the main unit of any computer system and we cannot imagine a complete and good working system without a good OS. I would not recommend any computer cleaner or Windows registry cleaner program to repair your computer in this case rather either Windows file checker utility or repairing windows with original installation CD is the best option to repair all damaged and broken system files.

Application programs

If there is any application program which is corrupt it can also freeze your computer. Removing and reinstalling such damaged program can help you to stop this issue. If after reinstalling the issue still continues do not reinstall the program. The program might be incompatible for your computer.                                                                   

Corrupt or incompatible device drivers

Corrupt device drivers can also cause freezing issue in your computer. Apart from the freezing issue an incompatible driver set can create BSOD andslow computer issue in your computer. Remove and reinstall a fresh copy of the effected drivers
