Don"t Be Afraid of a Destination Wedding!

5
Out of the many, many couples who dream of a destination wedding, comparatively few actually take the leap and do it.
We all dream about certain things that seem so right in our minds' eye, but we can't quite seem to take those first steps to making them reality.
It's easy to see how planning a wedding in a far-off locale could be an overwhelming process to begin.
Maybe you've always dreamed of getting married on some sun-drenched Tuscan hillside; but when you start to consider the logistics, you realize that don't know how to say much more than 'ciao,' you couldn't locate the region on a map, and you can't even remember whether they still use the lira, and so the most logical thing to do is to forget that silly idea.
But perhaps the only thing most couples need to make that first move towards a destination wedding is a change in perspective.
Because what is a wedding, really, if not two individual's declaration of their commitment to love one another through thick and thin, in a way that is theirs and theirs alone? And yet so many couples turn what should be the most personal, intimate day of their life into a quest to please family members and church communities and overbearing friends.
A destination wedding provides the perfect escape route from this nightmare scenario...
you're not eloping, exactly, but you are sending a message to all interested parties that the wedding, just like your marriage, is going to be on your terms! And of course, you make it clear that you want them all to take part in your special day and the rest of your life as a couple.
That said, a destination wedding doesn't necessarily mean saying your vows atop the highest rocky outcropping in the Italian Alps, where your grandmother will need to be dropped in by helicopter and small children will need oxygen.
You can choose a setting that's special to you and make sure that all your loved ones who attend are taken into consideration.
