Café Botânica
The Bottom Line
Updated on Nov.20, 2010
Café Botânica has two locations. The Humaitá bistrot offers a greater variety of items and closes a little later; the one in the Botanical Garden is just too pleasant to pass up, with its umbrella-sheltered tables under majestic trees.
Pros
- Creative fare with an international touch
- Great for a light meal
- Two locations, one of them in the Botanical Garden

- Botanical Garden location has outdoor seating only

Guide Review - Café Botânica
Perfect for a light meal, Café Botânica offers pastries, salads, quiches, and several finger foods that go well with coffee and tea, including sweet cakes.
I haven't been to the Humaitá location, but I love Café Botânica in the Botanical Garden. It's near the Visitors Center and the Sensory Garden - you can't miss it.
Some of the offerings are a tad on the pricey side. If you'd like to have a little something that's delicious (as long as you're not a picky eater) and still quite affordable while enjoying the lovely outdoor seating area, try one of the quiches (R$9,50-R$10, or around $4). There are four flavors - salmon, mushroom, broccoli and vegetables (legumes).
