Dryer Belt Replacement Instructions
- 1). Unplug the unit from the wall.
- 2). Remove the lint trap from the top of the machine, or the front and remove the screws in the lint trap bay using a screwdriver. Remove two more screws from the lower corners of the dryer to remove the front panel. This process may differ between models so check the service manual, or look around the unit for other screws.
- 3). Locate the motor and the belt. If the belt is still on, look at the way it is wrapped around the idler and the motor. If not, you will have to reference your owners manual, or the sticker on the motor describing the belt orientation.
- 4). Pull off the old belt.
- 5). Wrap the new belt around the tumbler drum first. Bring the other end around the idler pulley first. Pull back on the belt above the idler pulley and under the motor wheel, to bring it behind the motor wheel. This makes an "s" shape. Pull the belt behind the motor wheel.
- 6). Replace the front panel and screw it down. Insert the lint trap. Plug in the unit and test.
