What to Know About a Trane Gas Furnace and Installation

36
Recently, I went online to learn about gas furnaces and the companies that manufacture them.
Some companies have very friendly web sites with a lot of information available on their products.
Some major manufacturers don't seem as readily prepared to meet their potential customers online.
Because of this, I visited my local community to gather information on gas furnaces.
One fuel oil company acts as a dealer for the Trane Company, a manufacturer of heating and cooling systems.
I learned a lot about the high effieciency, trane gas furnace before I left the building.
I learned that there is a need for people to replace their existing heating systems if their systems are nearing the twenty year- old mark.
Furnaces are not built to last longer than this, and most people have difficulties with their heating units before this time is up.
If you have to make repair costs of $500 or more per year, it would be best to replace the furnace.
Also, furnaces as old as this had a peak performance of around 60%.
Present technologies provide heating units that rank in efficiencies between 80%-97%.
The latter models are most needed in areas that experience severe Winter weather, such as Northern New England.
Let's face it, equipment ages and with age comes infirmity.
This applies to machinery as well as to people.
We have to replace our parts at times, so too are replacement parts needed to keep our homes warm and safe.
Though I learned many important things with the certified Trane Dealer, I began to appreciate his role as a professional contactor as it relates to trane gas furnaces.
There is a lot to know and to understand about these systems.
Not every one of their models would be appropriate for my use.
I need a certified technician who understands these systems individually, knows how to inspect my home, knows how to install the new unit, understands how to assess my current duct system for efficiency, etc...
I also better understand the importance of having an on-going relationship with this person over time.
I want my new system to be kept clean and in good repair.
I want my system to be periodically inspected and assessed for potential problems on the horizon.
