Homemade Chicken & Noodles
- 1). Fill a slow cooker with 6 cups of water or 6 cups of canned chicken broth. You can also do half water and half broth. If you decide to do water keep in mind that your dish may not be as flavorful. Turn the slow cooker on low.
- 2). Place the chicken breast in the slow cooker with the broth. Add salt and pepper to taste. A good rule of thumb is about 1 tsp. of pepper and 1/2 tsp. of salt. If you use canned chicken broth you may not need to add salt, but that is a matter of personal taste preference.
- 3). Chop one small onion and two celery stalks. Place the chopped vegetables and the 2 cups of peeled baby carrots in the with the chicken and broth crockpot. Leave the items cook in the crockpot for six to eight hours.
- 4). Cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- 5). Stir the contents of your slow cooker with a large spoon. Use the tip of the spoon to break the chicken breasts up into bite-sized pieces. Add the cooked egg noodles to the slow cooker.
