Specifications for the Frigidaire Freezer FFU17M6AW2
- The Frigidaire freezer holds 16 cubic feet of foods and other frozen items. The freezer measures at 4 feet high, 2 feet wide and 2 feet deep. The handle on the freezer adds an extra 2 inches of space to the deep length, which is a little shorter than a standard refrigerator so it will fit in any fridge location. No ice maker or water feed is available with this model, so a simple three-prong outlet is the only thing needed behind the fridge.
- The freezer has four shelves to store items. Door compartments will store small items like ice cube trays or ice packs, so they must be used on the shelf space. The factory default sets the shelves evenly spaced, but small notches on the insides of the freezer allow you to adjust the height of each shelf, allowing you to store larger items like bulk purchases of meat or large bags of ice. The shelves themselves are metal-painted grates with a protective rubber liner on the front of each one. The rubber liner prevents cracks or damage from products or damage from a door being shut too hard. A slight curve on the back of each shelf locks it into place and prevents food from falling.
- The lighting included in the freezer is a long florescent light that hangs from the top of the inside door, which provides light for the entire freezer and automatically turns on anytime of the day. The light shield keeps the light focused on the interior of the freezer. The original light part number "5303091423" is no longer manufactured and has been replaced by the light bulb part "216846400." It is essentially the same light.
- The freezer uses 440 watts to power through a three-pronged plug. According the freezer's manual, the plug should plug directly through an outlet and never run through an extension cable that could cause improper power for the device. This is an older freezer that uses higher watts than a current Energy Star freezer. Find a location with a wall outlet to properly power the freezer.
