Safety Statistics for Us All
In the U.
S.
last year there was an estimated 8.
9 million property crimes.
This includes vandalism and robberies.
That's not even the most disturbing part of that stat.
Here is what disturbed me.
This is actually a decrease from 2011! Burglaries accounted for almost 25% of these crimes.
That amounts to about 2,225,000 burglary crimes.
How can we avoid being a part of these statistics? There are several ways to keep from being a victim, or survivor of a tragedy: Monitored Alarm System This can add a great peace of mind knowing someone is monitoring your home.
Working in the field of alarm system monitoring has created the opportunity to realize the great asset of having a monitored alarm system.
The companies place a lot of emphasis on the ability to have a consumer's trust when being monitored.
This is a great check and balance for the company and the consumer to make sure all things work well together.
One drawback of this option is the cost for continuous monitoring.
Many of us are struggling to make ends meet so this a recurring charge can is a big concern for many consumers.
Another issue is that different devices included in the system can malfunction.
Each device in an alarm system can have its own set of problems rendering it useless to protection of the home.
Fake Alarm System Sign Signs are a good way to protect your property from some burglars.
Once these signs have been viewed and recognized, most of the time a would-be robber will turn away.
Unfortunately these signs are not always seen.
So the positioning of such signs are very important.
Sometimes even if they have been viewed, robbers may feel they can get around the system.
Personal Weapon A personal weapon is always a good back-up.
I say back-up because it is best to have a plan before the need of a personal weapon.
You may not always be able to access your weapon quick enough, which is not a suitable condition to experience.
A second issue with weapons is that they have been known to be used against the person carrying them.
So being trained to use a personal weapon is a very good idea.
Surveillance Cameras Video cameras are an essential item to use when protecting a home or business.
They ward off some potential burglars and can help catch the others.
Like anything else, they do have their weaknesses.
Sometimes the pictures are not as clear as needed to view what is happening at a particular time.
Cameras can also be avoided or tampered with so as not to work properly.
The Best Option: All of these together.
Every day security systems are exploited one way or another.
By creating an ultimate system, as many weaknesses as possible are averted.
There still may be weaknesses.
The best way to limit those weaknesses is to try and protect your property in every way imaginable
