  When your bathroom does not have extensive built-in storage, creative storage and organization ideas can help reduce the clutter. As you plan storage for your bathroom, consider the open spaces and ways they can be used to increase storage. Look for options that allow you to hide items or showcase bathroom supplies that contribute to the decor of the room.
  
  

Back of the Door

• The back of a bathroom door is an oft-unused space. Use it for additional storage, particularly in small bathrooms that do not have much wall or floor space. Install multiple towel racks or pegs, or use over-the-door hanging shoe-holders to store towels and washcloths. If you already have a towel rod installed on the door, use it to hang simple organizers to store small items that do not fit elsewhere. You can also screw in small hooks to hold various bathroom sponges, jewelry, earrings or small cosmetics cases.
  
  

Narrow Shelves

• For a shelving unit with maximum utility with minimum space, use vertical shelves. Using basic drywall, make a privacy wall to shield the toilet; build the wall so it stops about 4 feet below the ceiling. Use the top of the wall for storage, and install a door in the side of the divider to reveal a hidden cabinet. You can put shelves inside the wall to store small items like children's toys, bath supplies, towels and other items. • Make use of the space between your bathroom vanity and the wall by installing a set of shelving for additional storage.
