The Installation Instructions for Dee Zee Running Boards

7
    • 1). Grasp the rubber bulb-seal gasket and push it onto the lip of the top of the running board until it is fully seated. Carefully cut any excess length of gasket off with a utility knife.

    • 2). Turn the running board over so that the underside is facing upwards. Locate the two slots the run the length of the bottom of the running board parallel to each other. Slide the heads of three ¾-inch hex bolts (included with your running board installation hardware) into one of the slots and an additional three bolts into the other slot. Slide the bolts in far enough so that they will not slide back out while you are handling the running board.

    • 3). Secure the running board end cap to the rear edge of the running board with the screws provided and tighten with a Phillips screwdriver.

    • 4). Attach the mud flap to the front edge of the running board with the screws provided and tighten with a 3/8-inch wrench or socket and ratchet wrench.

    • 5). Crawl under the side of your vehicle and remove the front, center and rear body mount bolts with an 18 mm wrench or socket and ratchet. Do not discard the bolts, as they will be reused to install the running board mounting brackets.

    • 6). Line up the mounting hole of one of the running board brackets to the bolt hole in one of the body mounts from which you removed the bolts. Run the original mounting bolt through the mounting hole and tighten it with a wrench or socket and ratchet wrench. Repeat this step to install the two remaining brackets.

    • 7). Hold the assembled running board up to the mounting brackets. Slide the bolts in the slots on the underside of the running board until they line up with the holes in the running board brackets.

    • 8). Place flat washers and hex nuts (included with the installation hardware) onto the protruding ends of the bolts and tighten with a socket and ratchet wrench to secure the running boards into place.

    • 9). Repeat all steps to assemble and install the other running board to the other side of the vehicle.
