How to Bring Web Videos to Cellphones
- 1). Access a movie or video file on your computer that you want to put on your cell phone. Move the video to your desktop or another easy-to-find location.
- 2). Right-click the video file and select "Properties" from the drop-down menu that appears. Within the properties menu, look for a field called "file type" and note what type of file extension appears. In order to play on a cell phone, a video must be in one of the following these formats: ".avi" ".mp4" or .3gp." If it is not in one of these formats, it will not play on your cell phone.
- 3). Remove your phone's memory card. The memory card should be located beneath your cell phone's battery or in a small, closed slot on the side of your phone. Plug the memory card from your cell phone into a memory-card reader and plug the memory-card reader into a USB port on your computer.
- 4). Locate the video file on your computer and save it to your memory-card reader. Your memory-card reader will probably be noted as a "removable drive" by your computer. To find it, click "My Computer" and look for the removable drive that you just created by plugging your memory-card reader into your computer. Save the file to that drive. Verify that you have selected the correct drive by double-clicking the folder next to the drive's name. If you have selected the correct drive, your video file will be inside of the folder.
- 5). Remove the memory-card reader from your computer and remove the memory card from the reader. Insert the memory card back into your cell phone. Turn your cell phone on and look for the video file you just brought over to your phone in the videos section of your cell phone. Press "Play" and enjoy the video on your cell phone.
