How to Adjust Belt Tension on a Frigidaire Washing Machine
- 1). Move your Frigidaire washing machine away from the wall and unplug the power supply from the AC wall outlet.
- 2). Use a screwdriver to remove the two screws from the front panel, then set the panel aside.
- 3). Tip the washer over slightly and place a piece of cardboard and some towels around the washing machine to catch any remaining water that might spill out.
- 4). Use the screwdriver to unscrew the clamps on the pump coupling, which is a rubber piece that connects the motor to the water pump.
- 5). Loosen the motor mounting bolts and shift the belt inward to relieve the tension of the belt. Tighten the mounting bolts to make the tension tighter.
