Let's face it, although it is "Vista time" we all still use the good old XP.
There are so many reasons for that but I will not go into details of that here.
The thing is that as any other Windows as time passes it slows down and the most annoying thing is that it takes forever to boot.
Here I will show you the 3 best and most common ways to speed up boot XP time and enjoy the smooth Windows you once had.

Clean up your start up list.
After installing and removing lots of software you will be amazed at how many small programs start with your Windows.
This is by far the main reason it is starting to slow down.
One of the ways is to go to your start menu - run - type "msconfig" and press enter.
You will see a tab saying "startup".
  If you are doing this for the first time you might be quite surprised at how many entries you see.

Increase your RAM memory.
This is the memory your PC uses for the tasks "at hand".
Increasing it will lead to much faster overall performance and considerably faster booting.
RAM memory so cheap nowadays and it is one of the first things you should consider when upgrading your computer.

Clean up and compact your registry.
This is the focal point in your operating system.
Everything that you do is being logged there.
It starts with your Windows and if it is too large or corrupted it will cause your PC to start much slower or even not start at all.
Installing and removing software without any registry maintenance will cause it to grow in size which is not beneficial for you.

I should also warn you not to attempt anything unless you know what you are doing or have made the proper system backup.
You might mess up the whole system and lose your data.
