In this article, I'm going to give you a list of foods that are great for losing weight fast and a list of foods to avoid like the plague.
That's right - I said foods that are great for losing weight.
I mentioned this already earlier in the series, but starving yourself or severely restricting your diet are no-nos.
You need to keep eating but make healthier choices about what you eat.
So, without further ado, the first food is...
Soup Eat soup with your meals.
What kind? It really doesn't matter.
Soup is great because it helps you fill up.
The main ingredient is water, and fluids are good for dieters.
They also provide you a tasty way to get some fresh veggies in your diet.
The best are vegetable-based, and avoid anything too creamy.
Veggies Veggies are the absolute best.
They're packed full of nutrients and vitamins, and they're low in calories.
A number of vegetables are high in fiber, and this helps you keep things moving (if you know what I mean - don't want to get too detailed here).
Fruit Fruit also gives you nutrients and fiber without the carbs.
Apples are great because they're anti-oxidants.
They offer one of the best snacks and if you eat one before each meal, you'll find yourself getting by with smaller portion sizes.
Low-Fat Protein Lean meats, beans, dairy and eggs are all great for weight loss.
Just make sure that it's low-fat.
Protein helps you build muscle and burn calories.
In general, avoid red meat.
Nuts are also a great source of protein.
Whole Grains Whole grains are basically anything made from grain that hasn't been processed.
The whole grain is left in the food.
Whole grains are great because they contain lots of nutrients and also fill you up.
They're also great substitutes for your usual grain products that are highly processed.
Foods to Avoid Soda - Soda really is a killer.
I mentioned this before and I'm really serious about it.
There's absolutely nothing good about it and lots that's bad, and remember that this includes diet soda as well.
Try this - every time you want a soda, drink a glass of water.
You'll lose weight just doing that! Saturated Fat - Saturated fat is a kind of fat found in red meat and some dairy products.
Read labels and you'll see it written there.
This is bad for your weight and also for your heart.
Trans Fats - These fats are even worse.
They're the type of fats found in foods that are deep fried like French fries or fried chicken.
You'll also find them in sweets like cake, pie, donuts and anything else that uses stick margarine.
Fast Food - Fast food is full of trans fats and calories.
I know it's tough to give it up, but here's a great tip.
Take your favorite fast food sandwiches (for example, the breakfast sandwiches with sausage patties and all of that) and make them yourself at home with more wholesome ingredients.
Processed Foods - Avoid anything with high levels of refined carbohydrates.
This includes lots of the cheap stuff you find at supermarkets as well as the entire snack aisle.
Alcohol - I mentioned this before too.
There's no surer way to gain weight than to consume alcohol on a regular basis.
Alcohol is basically the refined juice of natural fruits.
In other words, pure sugar.
Now, replace all of the above with healthy alternatives.
Reach for wholesome, healthy snacks and food items that are unprocessed.
