Top Qualities of a Good Wingman

11
"You can always tell a good wingman: when you've made a fool of yourself, he doesn't feel you've done a permanent job."

There are certain qualities that a wing should have when you are together. He can challenge you and help you to go beyond your own reasonable boundaries. He can motivate you when you are ready to give in and be there for you when your life seems to be falling apart. If you do something wrong, you might not notice it without your wingman's help.

These are just a handful of the benefits that you enjoy if you have a wing. Some of the important qualities of a good wing are shown below:

Fun - You are in the bar/club with your friend to have fun. That is your primary goal and every time you go out with this person, you should be able to completely relax and enjoy the night. Forget any goals you may have as you are

just there to have fun and hang out with your friend. This will release any pressure you feel.

Encourages you to Approach - Everybody feels the butterflies at some point before the first approach and it can be difficult to overcome. A good wingman will encourage you to approach and even push you to approach groups until you start to relax and get in state. Remember, one little push can be the difference between an average night and a great one.

Quality Feedback - It can sometimes be difficult to analyze your interactions when you are involved in them so feedback from any other source can be invaluable. Usually when somebody experienced is observing an interaction; they can tell straight away what you are doing well and what you need to change to become successful. He can provide you with insights that maybe you didn't realize while you were in the conversation. Little things can make a big difference and your wingman will pick up on your body language and other subtle cues that most people might never realize until it was pointed out.

Positivity - When you are around positive people, you are automatically put in a good mood and anything becomes possible. Have a rule that when you are out in the bars and clubs, you must only project positive energy and realize that anything you say that is negative will drag the mood down and work against you. Leave your personal problems at home and just have fun. If you get rejected, simply move on and do not let it affect your mood and attitude.

Following the Code - If you follow the rules, your wingman will probably become one of your closest friends over time and you will share a lot of experiences with him as you both strive to grow and develop. The rules are simply to avoid confusion and competition and followed correctly, will definitely increase your success in any group you approach. It is good to create a good understanding between you both and when somebody steps over the line, you can quickly point it out. Your wingman is the biggest asset you have in the social arena.

When you are in the group with him, he's increasing your value just by being there. He's a guy that's dressed up, socially intelligent, has a great sense of humor, fun but to name a few. When your there he adds value to you. When you are not there, he still adds value to you.
